Engine
Crankshaft & conrod assembly
Turns the piston's up-and-down motion into rotation β the engine's central axis.
How it works
The crankshaft receives the piston's thrust through the connecting rod and converts it into rotary motion that drives the transmission. It turns on bearings/journals lubricated by engine oil. Worn bearings produce vibration and a dull noise: opening up the engine is needed.
Maintenance tips
- Stick to oil change intervals: the crankshaft's lubrication depends on it.
- A dull noise that gets worse calls for a prompt engine diagnosis.
