About MotoDiagnostic

MotoDiagnostic helps non-expert riders understand what's going on with their motorcycle, at their own pace and without jargon.

"If you're not sure, stop. It's better to spend €30 on a diagnostic than €300 on damage."

Our Mission

Many riders give up trying to understand a problem for fear of doing something wrong, or pay a high price for a diagnostic they could have approached on their own. MotoDiagnostic starts from an observable symptom — smoke, a noise, a loss of power — and guides you, test after test, toward the most likely cause, then toward a clear course of action. The tool is free, and designed to be readable in the garage on mobile.

Our Editorial Charter

We write in a reassuring tone, never an authoritative one. Every suggested solution is accompanied by a reminder of its limits: this tool helps you understand, it does not replace a certified mechanic. At every step, you can answer "I'm not sure" without hitting a dead end. When a repair requires specialized equipment or affects safety (braking, steering, frame, transmission), we stop you and redirect you to a professional rather than suggesting a risky action.

Our Diagnostic Methodology

At the heart of the site is a rule-based diagnostic engine. It starts from the full set of possible causes for a symptom, picks the most discriminating test, applies your answer to rule out causes, and converges on the most likely one. The engine is generic: it reads structured, verified content (symptoms, causes, tests, solutions) without knowing about any specific motorcycle, which guarantees consistent logic from one case to the next.

Our technical content is based on recognized sources — workshop manuals (such as Haynes / RMT), manufacturer documentation, and feedback from mechanics and the community. We continuously correct and enrich this content.

How We Fund the Site

MotoDiagnostic is free. To cover its development, some recommended parts link to affiliate programs (Amazon, eBay, AliExpress): if you buy through these links, you pay the normally displayed price and we earn a modest commission, with no influence whatsoever on our recommendations. This is disclosed transparently, in accordance with our privacy policy.
