Privacy Policy

This page explains what data we process, why, on what legal basis, with whom, for how long, and what your rights are — in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and CNIL guidelines.

1. Data Controller

2. Purposes of Processing

We process data for the following purposes:

  • to let you create an account and access your maintenance logbook and diagnostic history (authentication);
  • to operate the community area (posting, reading, moderation);
  • to measure site traffic in an aggregated and anonymous way, only if you consent;
  • to fund the site via affiliate links, activated only when you click one;
  • to respond to messages you send through the contact form.

3. Legal Bases

Authentication and the provision of the logbook are based on the performance of the service you request (contract). Audience measurement and the possible placement of affiliate trackers are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Community moderation and site security are based on our legitimate interest in providing a safe service.

4. Data Processed

Depending on how you use the site, we may process:

  • your email address (magic-link sign-in, contact);
  • the information you enter in your logbook (make, model, maintenance) and your diagnostic history;
  • the content you post in the community (text, media);
  • minimal, anonymous technical data related to audience measurement (page views, device type), with no cookie or personal identifier.

5. Sub-processors and Recipients

We work with providers that act as sub-processors or joint controllers. Transfers outside the European Union are governed by standard contractual clauses.

6. Retention Period

Your account and logbook data are kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, they are erased within 30 days. Community content may be retained for moderation purposes. Data entered only locally (without an account) stays on your device until you erase it.

7. Your Rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, as well as the right to set guidelines on the fate of your data after your death. To exercise them, write to contact@moto-diagnostic.com. We respond within one month.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures: encrypted communications (HTTPS), database hosting within the European Union, access control through authentication, per-user data isolation (row-level security), and data minimization.

9. Complaints to the CNIL

If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, CNIL), cnil.fr.
