The foot control that shifts the gearbox up and down.
How it works
The gear shifter, through a linkage, operates the shift drum that moves the gearbox's shift forks. After a fall, the shaft or linkage rod can bend and interfere with shifting. A bent or loose shifter causes imprecise gear changes.
Maintenance tips
- Check its condition and tightness after a fall.
- Straighten or replace a bent linkage rod.
