Fuel system
Fuel tank & fuel system
Stores the fuel and feeds it to the engine via lines and a tap.
How it works
The tank supplies the engine with fuel. A vent lets air replace the fuel as it's used; if it clogs, a vacuum cuts off the fuel supply and the bike stalls. Hoses and the fuel tap carry the fuel; a leak is a fire risk to deal with immediately.
Maintenance tips
- Check that the cap's vent isn't blocked.
- Replace any cracked fuel hoses.
- A smell of gasoline means a leak - deal with it urgently.
